Imaginative Education Research Group


Rudolf Steiner said "The primary task through these (primary) years is to educate and nourish the imaginative powers of the child. It is this vital picture-making capacity that gives life and insight to logical and conceptual thinking". Imaginative education has underpinned Steiner schooling for 90 years and is now being supported by the Imaginative Research Group (IERG).

A more recent formation, the IERG is located in British Columbia with a branch in Canberra, Australia. Dr Thomas Neilsen, Lecturer in Education Studies, Department of Education and Community Studies, University of Canberra and author on Steiner pedagogy is a member of the Canberra branch. The website for this organisation is here to provide a contemporary insight into the imperative of educating with imagination. On the site is IERG ideas discussed on TV
